Forthcoming Events 2007/08.
Below is information about future Club Trips. Visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend up to two trips & three meetings before
being required to apply for membership; however, visitors must seek permission from the Trip Leader before being accepted onto a trip.
The attendance list for specific trips are posted on the Club Notice Board at meetings; club members unable to sign up for a trip on these lists
are asked to phone or email the Trip Leader to advise attendance.

Please check that you are carrying all required equipment and are compliant to the trip requirements.
Please contact trip leaders before attending trips- Dates and activities are subject to change.
Animals on any trip must be cleared with Trip Leader before attending.

TRIP RATINGS.

SCENIC: Bitumen & Gravel surfaces; Limited 4wd’ing; Vantage points, Lookouts, Flora and Fauna of the local area; other points of interest.
EASY: Mainly off road; formed tracks; some 4wd’ing; no steep inclines or deep crossings.

MODERATE: Bush terrain; some inclines & side slopes; soft sand or mud areas, easy creek crossings.
HARD: Off Road; Rough terrain; steep inclines; steep side slopes; rough creek crossings; possible towing.
DIFFICULT: Off Road; Very Rough terrain; Very steep inclines; Steep side slopes; Difficult creek crossings; Some towing, snatching or winching.

MEETING: Drivers briefing at 8.45 am Lakes Roadhouse at the junction of Grt Eastern Hwy and Grt Southern Hwy(50km East of Perth)(Zone 50H, 435600E, 6473007N).
DETAILS:

 

 

Trip consists of approximately 250Km of forestry tracks traveling Thru Wandoo forest country to Mt Observation for morning tea, Lunch on rock ledges on Mt Talbot. Then following along the Darkin river and Mundaring Weir catchment extremes for a late arvo  cupper on Mt Dale with spectacular views to the South East Ranges and forest country at around 4.00pm returning to Perth via Ashendon Rd Brookton Hwy.
Drivers are urged to bring the family ,Lunch ,and Cameras .There are no facilities at Mt Talbot other than views ,there are superb facilities at Mt observation and Mt Dale
RATING: Easy to Moderate

DATE: 23-25th May 2008
TRIP LEADER: Helen Sullivan
MEETING: 2pm Friday onwards at Icy Creek Camp, Dwellingup. (Maps available)
DETAILS: A weekend of relaxing, Saturday run around Dwellingup, Dinner at 6pm followed by Club Awards and Trophy Evening.
LIMIT: No Limit
EQUIPMENT:  BYO Food, Drink, Tents, Campers & Caravans. Bikes, Cricket Sets and Footballs etc.
FUEL: Available at Dwellingup.
Accommodation  6 Huts which sleep 8 people, bunk beds with mattresses provided. Visitors to bring pillows, bedding etc. No powered sites.
Camper Trailers, Tents & Caravans
Cost:  $10 per person (16 years and over) $6 per child (under 16)

For further details and directions – See Trip leader for specific details (map to be supplied). Activities –Beach driving, river crossings, sand dune driving and some bush tracks and challenges for the willing and able.

DETAILS: Introduction to mud driving and gravel track driving, theory and practical. Great for new members.

DATE: 21st & 22th June 2008
TRIP LEADER: Trips Committee
MEETING: 9.00 am Mogumber Pub
DETAILS: Held at Mogumber. Various members of the club will be on hand to demonstrate/show/inform/teach you activities such as winching, camp oven cooking, basic vehicle maintenance, Tyre maintenance. Some members will open their vehicles and campers for you to look at how they are set up. It will be a good time to get ideas on how you can set up your vehicle for day/weekend and longer trips.

*** Gunnadoo Doolgunna ***

DATE: 5TH to 21st July ( school holidays )
TRIP LEADER: Bob and Pat
MEETING: White Wells camp site ( no.524 camps Australia book ) 320k’s. from Perth on the 4th.
OR 1600 hours at Cue ( 650 k’s from Perth ) on the 5th. Camp at Nallan Station , 13k’s north of Cue.
 
DETAILS: Convoy will camp at Doolgunna station for approx. twelve days. The station is 120k’s north of Meekatharra. We arrive at Doolgunna on the 6th and depart on the 18th.
Good facilities, fresh Water ( drinking ), showers, camp kitchen, six rooms available. Fuel supplies can be arranged, as well as food supplies. We will do some cleaning up for D.E.C. around the three stations,
namely Doolgunna, Mooloogool and Diamond Well, as well as plenty of time for
sightseeing, 700,000 hectares to explore. I also hope to arrange a visit to Ned’s
Creek Station, which is a working cattle station. Gravel tracks in fair condition
connect all four stations.
This trip is a great opportunity for the children to experience the vastness of our
Great country.

***A BIT BIT MORE OF THE BIBBULMUN ***

DATE: 17TH, 18TH, 19TH OCTOBER.
TRIP LEADER: Bob and Pat. Support crew Chris and Jan Mitchell and Angelo Metaxas.
MEETING: Collie River Tourist C/Van Park, anytime on the Friday.
DETAILS: Walks on both days start at 0830 hours. School bus costs approx. $5.00 per day per person. Lunch is provided both days by our support crew, cost $5.00 per day per person. Saturdays walk is 10.5 k’s to Harris dam picnic area ( lunch stop )
Bus will drop us off at Allanson rd and pick us up at Harris dam picnic area.
Sunday’s walk is 9k’s. The bus will drop us off at Mungalup rd. and we walk back to camp (lunch stop ). Both day’s walk’s will finish approx. 12:30 hours.
Walkers to carry morning tea, drinks etc. On Saturdays walk Chris will bring our chairs, food etc. to the lunch spot in the clubs trailer.
As on previous trips Saturday night will be a dinner at one of the local pubs, fixed menu ( roast lamb or roast chicken, plus sweets) price to be negotiated.

VISITORS MOST WELCOME
 

LIMIT: No limit, but for Saturday night catering, number of people participating (walkers and non walkers ) must be on trip sheet by General Meeting 9TH October.
EQUIPMENT: Camera, good footwear, and remember you are responsible for putting your own chair , plate, knife and fork etc. in the trailer for Saturdays lunch.
FUEL: Easy, great fun, lovely scenery.
